During registration, each student and advisor is encouraged to volunteer in our APCA Serves Program. During October, We honored Breast Cancer Awareness Month by asking our participants to
acknowledge those they know affected by the disease on pink ribbons
which were displayed throughout the event. Since Halloween was right around the corner, we made ghost suckers and trick -or- treat bags for elementary school kids. For Thanksgiving, we created table mats for the elderly who celebrated Thanksgiving at a local nursing home. Participants also made their own Flat Stanley and Christmas cards that will be sent to our troops during the holidays.

A
lot of great networking opportunities occurred throughout the conferences. Our
advisors attended a reception, and were also provided breakfast before the
activities on Saturday. During the breakfast, advisors from various schools
were able to discuss numerous topics relevant to them as Programmers and Higher
Education Professionals.
NORTHEAST ADVISORS BREAKFAST
Throughout the conference, students were able to interact with each other as well. APCA provides excellent late night activities for students that can be booked on site and can come to their campus for specific events. They also had the chance to mingle with associates, and received tons of free swag at our APCA Exhibit Hall. Social Media awards were also given throughout the conference to the students who tweeted, posted pictures to instagram, or posted to Facebook on the APCA social media pages. The winners of each received a special prize from the APCA.
Danielle Colby from the hit TV show, American Pickers joined us for all of our Fall Programming Conferences. It was the perfect chance for our participants to come and meet Danielle. There was also plenty of time to snap a picture with her and get her autograph during the APCA Exhibit Hall.
We hope to see you all soon!
Thanks again to everyone who helped make our APCA Fall Programming Conferences a success!
